Acceptable Use
Shared systems, shared responsibility
Use the library fairly and securely.
These expectations protect access to the catalog, accounts, licensed resources, and bookable spaces for the whole NIT community.
Share capacity fairly
Use reasonable search and download rates, and reserve rooms only when your group intends to use them.
Respect people and rights
Follow library rules, protect privacy, honor licenses, and do not interfere with other users or systems.
Not permitted
- Unauthorized access, credential sharing, impersonation, or attempts to bypass controls.
- Automated scraping, bulk harvesting, excessive downloads, malware, probing, or disruption.
- Harassment, unlawful activity, privacy violations, or infringement of copyright and license terms.
- False, duplicate, abusive, or commercial room reservations.
Room booking conduct
Provide accurate group details, observe capacity and time limits, leave promptly at the end of a session, and keep shared spaces clean. Repeated no-shows or misuse may affect booking access.
Enforcement and reporting
NIT may limit or suspend access, cancel reservations, preserve relevant records, and refer serious matters under institutional policy. Report security or misuse concerns to library@nit.edu.pk.
